Why are you no longer growing trees?
Growing rare and unusual trees was extremely rewarding which I enjoyed for almost 20 years. I met many wonderful plant people, some who became good friends. Tree care, requires 12 months, multi-year care ( and trees are heavy). Although personally difficult, a decision was made to stop growing trees to allow some time off each year to do other things (travel, hike in the Adirondacks etc). Growing annuals has been very rewarding as well. It has been a new plant group to learn. If you love plants, you will understand why it hasn't taken much time to fall in love with these plants as well.
For 2019, I am taking a skip year. Medical treatments over the winter have left me fatigued, so it is best I reduce stress right now. I hope to continue on some basis next year.
